EASTON The board of directors of the United Fund of Talbot County has announced the appointment of Buck Duncan, president and CEO of Talbot Bank, as the chairman of the 2011-12 campaign.
The United Fund's purpose is to raise money to benefit its 22 participating charities, enabling them to assist thousands of needy individuals and families in the local community.
Duncan is well known in the community as a civic leader. As a United Fund campaign advocate for many years, he also has served the community as board member and treasurer of CASA of Talbot County, board member of the Country School, and member and past president of the Rotary Club of Easton. He also is a former member of the board of directors for the Memorial Hospital at Easton and Shore Health System, and director of the Maryland Bankers Association.
"I am very pleased to have been asked to serve as the United Fund 2011-12 campaign chairman," Duncan said. "It is a great organization with a long list of achievements in the community. With so many agencies depending on the fund, our goal is to make sure they can continue to offer their invaluable services to the residents of Talbot County."
