DENTON — Denton police officers arrested a Denton man Sunday, Jan. 26, after the man allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven on N. 6th Street Sunday.
According to Denton police, Daryl Thomas Green, 21, of 74 Village Circle, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, theft of less than $1,000, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Green is being held at the Caroline County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.
Denton police said at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 7-Eleven on N. 6th Street regarding an armed robbery. Police said the store clerk told officers a black man entered the store, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the man then fled on foot with about $130 in small bills.
Police said officers checked the exterior of the store and located fresh footprints in the snow. Police said officers followed the trail to an apartment at Village Circle and made contact with the occupants of the apartment, one of whom was Green. Police said officers secured the residence and made application for a search and seizure warrant, which was granted.
During the execution of the search and seizure warrant, evidence from the alleged robbery was located and seized in Green’s bedroom, police said. The handgun that was allegedly used was recovered outside Green’s bedroom window, police said.
