Rescue crews are on the scene of an accident on Federalsburg Highway at Caroline Drive. One vehicle has gone into the woods and an occupant needs extrication, according to scanner reports.

Crews called for a helicopter to take someone to a trauma center, but the weather has interrupted flights. According to the scanner, officials are trying to get a helicopter from nearby Delaware, instead.

Staff writer Abby Andrews is headed to the scene.

UPDATE: Patient will be taken in an ambulance to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. No helicopter.
