EASTON - Easton Farmers Market management went head to head with the Easton Police Department at Monday's town council meeting over whether the market should stay at its present location or move to accommodate increasing foot and vehicle traffic on Harrison, Dover and Washington streets.

The market is currently open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Wednesdays from June 19 to Aug. 28. Market manager Carolyn Jaffe and local vendors in the past have told the town council they would like to change Wednesday's hours to 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. to give residents the opportunity to shop on their way home from work. Market participants believe the afternoon hours will have a two-fold benefit since more people will have the freedom to stop by during these hours and so increase business for vendors.
