ANNAPOLIS — Saying this is “a great moment for the Eastern Shore,” Maryland State Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., D-27, Prince George’s and Calvert, administered the oath of office to Stephen S. Hershey Jr., the new senator from the 36th District.

The ceremony took place at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Senate Chamber in the State House as dozens of Hershey’s relatives and friends looked on. His mother, Gail Hershey, an Annapolis resident, beamed throughout the ceremony.
