HAGERSTOWN (AP) The Washingon County sheriff says a Hancock woman found hanging at the county detention center has been declared dead.

Sheriff Douglas W. Mullendore said Sunday that 25-year-old Kristy Dawn Jenkins was declared dead Friday. She was found hanging Wednesday from a sheet on a bathroom partition. Jenkins was later taken to Meritus Medical Center.

Mullendore told The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that procedures at the detention center are being reviewed following Jenkins' death.

There have been two other hangings at the detention center in the past two years. The sheriff said a 22-year-old man killed himself last year, and a woman survived in 2010.
