GEORGETOWN - Robert E. Banning Sr. of Georgetown passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was 71.

Mr. Banning was born in Easton, the son of the late James Edward and Doris Viola Banning Patchett.

Mr. Banning was the President of Colony Pool for 33 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Milford Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Banning was a major Baltimore Orioles fan and fantasy baseball fan. He was the commissioner of several leagues and won several trophies.

In addition to both parents, Mr. Banning was preceded in death by his step-father, Melvin Patchett.

He is survived by his wife of six years Pamela "Cooper" Banning; son Robert E. Banning Jr. and his wife Melissa of Georgetown; daughter Michelle L. Robinson and her husband Jay of Magnolia; sister Donna Dixon and her husband Dwayne of Easton; grandchildren Logan and Jordan Banning and Cassidy Robinson; nephew Daryl Dixon and wife Karena of Easton.

A Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June, 8, 2013, at the Milford Church of God, 500 N. Walnut St., Milford. Burial will be Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church. Arrangements by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
