CENTREVILLE — A tractor-trailer collision at U.S. Route 301 at state Route 314 at about 8:45 a.m. Friday, May 30, resulted in a lane closure on Route 301.

The accident was the result one tractor-trailer rear-ending another, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration and Maryland State Police. 

As a result of the accident, the left lane on Route 301 north was closed, as the tractor-trailer that hit the other vehicle was totaled and leaking engine fuel, requiring cleanup said Tpr. K. Braightmeyer of the MSP Centreville Barracks. 

Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company, Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company and Maryland Department of the Environment cleanup crews were involved in cleaning the oil that spilled, according to the Queen Anne's County Department of Emergency Services. 

As of 1 p.m. Friday, the left lane on Route 301 was still partially closed, with drivers still able to use a J-turn to go south on Route 301, police said.
