Lester Branson extends long-time partnership with town of Denton

DENTON — Lester Branson was sworn in for another five-year Denton Town Council term on Thursday, Feb. 6. He has served over 33 years with the town of Denton, including serving nine times as mayor.

Branson served in the United States Air Force 1966-1969 as an optometrist before moving to Denton in 1969 to continue his career in optometry. He has also has been a volunteer of the Denton Fire Department for over 50 years.

”I have seen a lot of things change in my time serving Denton,” Branson said, “Sometimes I tell myself that I have to run for another term just to see it happen.”

Branson’s next term will keep him active as a Denton Town Council Member through December 2024.
