EASTON — Easton police on Saturday, Nov. 9, arrested an Easton woman on an assault charge.

According to police, officers responded to the Amish Country Farmers Market to investigate a reported assault.

Police said Anijah Jha-Ke Wilson, 24, of Easton had accused Desiree Lynda Hemmes, 50, of Dover, Del., of cutting in the food line. Police said they argued until Wilson punched Hemmes, knocking her to the ground, then jumped on top of her and continued to punch and kick until bystanders broke up the fight.

According to police, no witnesses saw Hemmes cut in line, but all said Wilson started the fight.

Hemmes refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

Wilson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. She was released on $7,500 bond, according to online court records.
