California expands eligibility for coronavirus vaccine

ANNAPOLIS — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan will hold a briefing on Thursday, Jan. 14, on the state’s mass COVID vaccination efforts. The briefing is at 5 p.m.

Hogan will also give additional updates on the pandemic.

The Talbot County Health Department reported 20 new local COVID cases on Thursday. There are 223 active coronavirus cases in Talbot and 14 residents have died in the county during the course of the pandemic.

There are 227 active COVID cases in Dorchester County. Dorchester has seen 28 deaths during the pandemic.

There have been 6,277 deaths statewide attributed to COVID with 44 new ones reported Thursday by the Maryland Department of Health.

The number of hospitalizations is down by 86 statewide and stands at 1,843, according MDH’s update on Thursday.
