GRASONVILLE — Police have confirmed the deaths of two people in Grasonville. The evening of Friday, Jan. 22, deputies and command staff from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Canal Street in Grasonville, after being summoned by family members of the victims for a domestic related double shooting.
Two individuals were located inside the residence with apparent fatal gunshot wounds.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Unit along with the Maryland State Police Mobile Crime Lab were requested to investigate and process the scene.
According to a statement released by QACSO Public Information Officer Jessica Milligan the incident was isolated to the involved residence and there was no threat to the community. Circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated at this time, Milligan said.
The night of the incident, Sheriff Gary Hofmann advised the Chester River Beach neighborhood that there was “no local threat and that the community is safe. This is an isolated event within a household. Thank you for everyone’s concern as we continue our investigation.”
Wednesday, Jan. 27, police were able to release the name of the victim, Linda Wiley, a white female, 73 years of age and the other deceased individual, Charles Muth, Jr., a white male, age 57.
