EASTON — More than 100 of your friends and neighbors have come together to present this year’s holiday production of the Avalon Foundation, “Elf the Musical,” opening Friday, Dec. 13, at the Avalon Theatre.
Based on the beloved 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, “Elf the Musical” follows Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is taken to the North Pole.
The would-be elf is raised unaware he is a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity.
Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
All ticket proceeds will go toward the Avalon Foundation’s year-round mission to provide diversified arts and educational programs that improve the quality of life on the Eastern Shore.
Performances, all at the Avalon Theatre, are set for 7 p.m. Dec. 13, 14, 20 and 21; 2 p.m. Dec. 15, 21 and 22; and 6 p.m. Dec. 19.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
The Dec. 19 show is a special dinner theater event, with tickets set at $100.
