ST. MICHAELS — Pete Howell is coming back to share his love and knowledge of movies in the Lunch & Learn series at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library.

At noon Monday, Oct. 7, Howell will discuss “Handicapped Characters on the Big and Small Screens.”

If you missed his first movie trivia quiz, here is your chance to test your own knowledge with questions like these: Which actress has won the most Academy Awards? What are the only three movies ever to score an Academy Award Grand Slam (best picture, director, actor, actress and screenplay)? There will be prizes.

Howell began his career as the arts and entertainment editor at The Athens Observer, a weekly newspaper published in Athens, Ga. After holding a variety of positions with Chesapeake Publishing, he retired as the arts and entertainment editor and movie critic at The Star Democrat.

Howell has been an active volunteer in the local arts community and has appeared in several local community theater productions. He currently is the head of the Talbot Cinema Society, which meets monthly to screen a movie of interest to its members.

The Lunch & Learn series is sponsored by the Friends of the Library; coffee and dessert are provided. For more information, visit www.tcfl.org or call 410-745-5877.
