EASTON — Bluegrass band Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in the Avalon Theatre’s Stoltz Listening Room.
Bluegrass Unlimited wrote, “They’re the kind of stellar musicians who get crowds on their feet while demonstrating to all the world’s wannabe bluegrass pickers how the true masters get it done.”
Since leaving the cold climes of Alaska for the bluegrass hotbed of Washington, D.C., Solivan has built a reputation as a monster mandolinist and become a major festival attraction with his band, Dirty Kitchen.
Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen were named IBMA’s 2016 Instrumental Group of the Year for the second time, with a third nomination in 2017. Their album “Cold Spell” earned a 2015 Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album of the Year.
Their latest album, “If You Can’t Stand the Heat,” was released in January.
Tickets are $25, and available by calling 410-822-7299 or going online to www.avalon theatre.com.
