ROCK HALL — The Mainstay is throwing the record party of the year on Saturday, July 13.

During Vinyl Revival — the Mainstay’s summer fundraising event — staff will spin platters and raise money from noon until 10 p.m. Tickets are $25, and can be purchased at the Mainstay or online at

The Vinyl Revival will feature a day and evening of LPs representing all the memorable styles and eras of music Mainstay audiences love — jazz, folk, blues, classical and more, a news release states.

As a special treat, the LPs will be played over a sound system provided by the Listening Room of Chestertown.

Bart’s Records Chestertown will be on hand all day, for those looking to buy that elusive, vintage, vinyl LP.

Starting at noon, each hour of the 10-hour event will highlight a specific style or era of music. Participants are invited to come for the whole day or stop by for a few hours.

The Vinyl Revival music schedule is as follows:

12 to 1 p.m. — bluegrass, newgrass

1 to 2 p.m. — folk: traditional, Celtic, revival

2 to 3 p.m. — jazz: New Orleans, dixieland

3 to 4 p.m. — classical: symphonic, chamber

4 to 5 p.m. — big band vocalists

5 to 6 p.m. — jazz: Latin

6 to 7 p.m. — blues: traditional, electric

7 to 8 p.m. — jazz: bebop, Afro-Cuban

8 to 9 p.m. — jazz: swing

9 to 10 p.m. — anything goes

Audiences also may bring their own vinyl, which may be played during the events for a $20 donation. Contact the Mainstay beforehand as this extra is offered first come, first served.

“Barbecue Sal” will provide ribs and side dishes at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Beverages will be available at the Mainstay bar.

“So come spend a fantastic summer day with your friends, listening to timeless recordings, dancing, eating and drinking, and helping the Mainstay to keep on providing its special brand of musical magic,” the release states.
