The U.S. Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary serves local recreational boaters in a variety of ways.

If you’re on the water and you need help, call Channel 16 on your onboard radio, or contact the 24-hour command center at 410-576-2525. Provide your position, the nature of the distress, the number of people on board, a description of the vessel and whether everyone is wearing their life jacket.

For more information on the auxiliary’s services, including a Courtesy Vessel Safety Check and information on paddlecraft safety, visit cgaux.org.
