EASTON — Immanuel Lutheran Church will host the Baltimore Children’s Choir in an hour-long choral concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
The concert will feature a sacred and secular repertoire from a variety of cultures, backgrounds and musical genres. The program will include classical, gospel, folksongs and Broadway musical numbers.
The concert is the first stop for the choir on its summer tour, which includes stops in Easton, Bethany Beach, Del., and Williamsburg, Va.
The choir consists of 65 youth ranging from 5 through 18 years old. Each year, the organization presents about 15 concerts throughout the city and participates in the Maryland Young Voices Festival.
In recent years, the choir has performed at Strathmore Concert Hall, historic Bruton Parish in Williamsburg and the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
The choir is under the direction of Eastern Shore native Joseph Shortall.
The Baltimore Children’s Choir is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in Baltimore City.
Immanuel Lutheran Church is at 7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton. The concert is free and open to the public.
