Councell Farms donates produce to
St. Vincent de Paul Society
More than 30 members from The Society of St. Vincent de Paul came together On Oct. 30 to help glean the remaining produce at Councell Farms. The group collected 3.25 tons of broccoli, collard greens, kale and several varieties of squash.
These vegetables will be given out to needy families in Talbot County at St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry at 29533 Canvasback Drive and will be shared with other food pantries county-wide. Councell Farms has been a longtime supporter of Saint Vincent de Paul.
“We are thrilled with the amount collected as well as the great turnout of volunteers to help with the effort,” said Kathy Weaver, director of the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. “We are so grateful for Councell Farms and all they do for those in need in our community.”
