Fallen heroes memorial dedication set for Saturday

Dedication of the World War I, World War II and Korea memorial at the Talbot County Court House in Easton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. Navy The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps will present the colors. John Coleman will sing the national anthem, as well as a duet with Sarah Chapple. Guest speaker is Tom Hill, whose father is named on the WWII memorial. There will be a laying of wreaths and the ceremony will conclude with military honors. The dedication is expected to last about an hour. Seating is limited. All are welcome. Talbot County Council gave approval in January 2020 to VFW Post 5118 Auxiliary for a monument design honoring the county’s fallen heroes from those wars. This dedication is the culmination of that project. After the ceremony, a light lunch will be provided at VFW Post 5118, 355 Glebe Road, Easton.
