ASHLEY WATKINS

TILGHMAN — Tilghman United Methodist Church will host a free concert featuring the music of flutist Ashley Watkins and vocalist Monte Henry at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

A native of Cambridge, Watkins will present an evening of oldies, and classical and jazz standards. She has multiple degrees in performance, as well as orchestral experience, but what shines through is her compelling interpretation of the music.

Henry, the music director at New St. Johns United Methodist Church in Wittman, and his powerful renditions of gospel and popular songs will open the evening.

Organized to promote community and local artists, the “Music of Tilghman” concerts are sponsored by Tilghman United Methodist Church and by the Talbot County Arts Council with funds provided by the Talbot County Council, and the towns of Easton, Oxford and St. Michaels.
