GREENSBORO — Former Greensboro Police Chief Michael Petyo pleaded guilty Friday, Jan. 17, to one count of misconduct in office for making factual misrepresentations in an application for certification he filed on behalf of former officer Thomas Webster IV.
BALTIMORE — Takii Nikeya Smith, 44, of Cambridge has pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
GREENBELT — A federal criminal complaint has been filed charging three alleged members of the racially motivated, violent extremist group “The Base” with firearms and alien-related charges, among them a Denton man.
EASTON — Easton police on Tuesday, Jan. 14, arrested Joseph Smith, 66, of Easton on a warrant charging him with theft less than $100, according to a news release. Police said Smith is accused of going to Acme on Aug. 29, 2019, and stealing another customer's wallet.
CHESTERTOWN — A man brandishing a handgun ran off with an undisclosed amount of money Saturday night, Jan. 4, as two waitresses were closing up a popular restaurant in the 800 block of High Street.
