STEVENSVILLE — While Deputy Tyler Argubright of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a patrol check of the Kent Landing Shopping Center in Stevensville on May 4, a man approached him and reported a theft.

John Bischoff Sr. of Denton told Argubright the batteries had been stolen off his commercial truck, which was parked in the Kmart lot while he was working a job site down the road from the shopping center. Bischoff said he last had his truck running on April 29, and the batteries were still there. He said someone stole both batteries and cut the wires to his truck.

He estimated the value of the batteries at $500.
