TRAPPE — Two Cambridge men were arrested outside of the High’s Dairy Store in Trappe after a K-9 search led police officers to discover heroin and paraphernalia in their vehicle.
At about 2:30 a.m. June 25, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office reportedly observed a suspicious vehicle at the High’s. A K-9 scan yielded a positive alert and officers began searching the car.
Officers identified the driver as Jonathan Elizondo, 42, and the passenger as Sean Coughlin, 52. Both men were placed under arrest and charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.
Coughlin also was found to have three open arrest warrants from Baltimore city and Harford County. Coughlin was ordered held pending further action by the courts. He is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing at 10:45 a.m. Monday, July 13.
Elizondo was released by the district court commissioner on $5,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing in Elizondo’s case is slated for 8:30 a.m. July 13.
