EASTON — Easton police on Tuesday, Jan. 14, served a Cambridge woman with a criminal summons charging her with theft $100 to $1,500.

According to a news release, Ka Jun Palmer, 20, of Cambridge removed the price tags from several items of clothing at Target and replaced them with price labels from cans of kidney beans. She then scanned the kidney bean labels at self-checkout, police said.

Palmer ignored store security personnel who asked to see her receipt and left the store, police said.

Store employees were able to get Palmer’s license plate number, and she was identified later, according to police.

The alleged incident occurred Dec. 15, 2019, police said.

Palmer was released after receiving the criminal summons.
