DENTON — The Caroline County Sheriff's Office investigated an assault reported about 8 p.m. Oct. 4.

According to police, a Denton man was traveling on Garland Road in the area of Baker Road when a large, black pickup truck approached from behind. Police said the man pulled over to let the truck pass, and as he did several young males in the bed of the truck threw rocks at him and his vehicle, shattering the rear window of his truck. They then fled the area, police said.

The man estimated the damage to be about $250, according to police.
