EASTON — An Easton man is facing drunk driving charges following two reported hit-and-run traffic accidents.
According to a news release, officers responded Monday, March 23, to 326 E. Dover St., where a white van reportedly had hit a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, owned by Emelitta Rookard of Trappe.
While officers gathered information on the van, police said, a van given the same description hit a 2018 Kia, owned by Ashley Lazar, at 122 Chapel Road.
Police said officers found the van parked at 119 Chapel Road. The driver fled on foot and was found later near the intersection of Chapel Road and U.S. Route 50, police said. He was identified as Bayron Gonzales-Lopez, 23, of Easton, according to police.
The van was a 2008 GMS Safari, and it was towed by Jimenez Towing, police said.
Gonzales-Lopez was charged with various offenses, including driving under the influence, driving while impaired, negligent driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving without a license. Police said he was released to family members.
