EASTON — Easton police on Tuesday, Sept. 17, arrested an Easton woman accused of stealing a wallet.
According to a news release, officers responded to R&R Liquors at 121 S. Washington St., where a man had made a purchase and then left his wallet on the counter. A short time later, police said, he received a phone call telling him his wallet had been found in the parking lot.
Police said the man returned and, along with the business owner, reviewed video surveillance footage of the time he was there. The video showed a white woman taking his wallet from the counter, placing it in her purse and leaving the store, police said. The woman then removed the wallet from her purse and threw it from her vehicle, police said.
The police officers identified the woman as Jenifer Noel Pace, 33, of Easton and later arrested her at her residence, police said. She was charged with theft under $1,500 and released by a Talbot County District Court commissioner on personal recognizance.
