HENDERSON — A Marydel man faces charges of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment after an altercation with the mother of his children, according to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim contacted the sheriff’s office for assistance at 4:52 p.m. July 28, shortly after the alleged assault occurred, police said.
According to the police report, she told deputies that Edilberto Tomas Marcario had broken two beer bottles and assaulted her while they were stopped on a public roadway in the vicinity of Hecht Road and Woodyard Road on the border of Queen Anne’s and Caroline counties. She called for help after returning to her residence.
Deputies found evidence consistent with the woman’s account of events at the scene, police said.
Dfc. C LaMonica, assisted by Maryland State Police, located Macario in the Marydel area and arrested him. He was taken to the sheriff's office, processed, interviewed and charged.
Marcario is being held on no bond at the Caroline County Detention Center in Denton.
