EASTON — Easton police on Monday, May 20, arrested an Ocean City woman on drug charges at an urgent care clinic.
According to a news release, police officers responded to Your Doc’s In, 8163 Ocean Gateway, after receiving a report of an assault.
Police said they learned there had not been an assault, but a woman was inside a bathroom using drugs and she had a hypodermic needle. Police said they knocked several times on the bathroom door, then entered and found Emily Jean Jones, 32, of Ocean City. Police said she was standing over a flushing toilet as if she had just flushed something.
Officers brought Jones outside and searched the bathroom, finding a syringe in a trash can, police said. They also found a metal spoon with suspected heroin residue and a metal rod used to clean out a crack pipe in Jones’ purse, police said. Jones also told the officers she had a bag of heroin in her bra, police said.
Jones was arrested and taken to the Talbot County Detention Center. She was charged with controlled dangerous substance: possession of administrative equipment, CDS: possession of paraphernalia and CDS: possession not marijuana. She was to brought before a Talbot County District Court commissioner as soon as she was able, police said.
