PRINCESS ANNE — Maryland State Police are investigating the shooting of a three-year-old boy on the Eastern Shore Monday.

The boy was injured by a gunshot Monday morning and was transported to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional.

Police responded to a home in Princess Anne shortly after 8:30 a.m. The boy and his father were being loaded into an ambulance.

State police troopers believe someone fire a gunshot from outside the home. The residence sits on Route 13 in Somerset County.

There were no other injuries reported from the incident.

Maryland State Police and local law enforcement are investigating the shooting and whether it came from a passing car.
