EASTON — An Easton man and a Trappe woman are facing drug charges following their arrest Wednesday, May 27.

According to a news release, Easton police saw suspicious activity in and around a blue Mazda in the parking lot of R&R Liquors on Washington Street. Police said officers stopped the car as it left the parking lot.

Police said the driver and owner of the car consented to a search, and the officers found Xanax pills in a plastic bag in the glove box. None of the four people in the car claimed ownership, though from what the officers had seen previously, they arrested Darrell Lamont Taylor Jr., 30, of Easton and Nichole Sherlene Whitfield, 26, of Trappe, police said.

They each were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and released on personal recognizance, according to online court records.
