EASTON — A Baltimore woman and a Wittman woman are facing drug charges after Easton police were called to the area of Famous Footwear on May 29.
According to police, officers responded to the area of the Marlboro Avenue store after receiving a report of two women who appeared to "sleeping while standing."
Police identified the women as Shadowe Katlyn Diehl, 26, of Baltimore and Kaila Kathryn Gowe, 31, of Wittman. Based on their behavior, officers determined they were under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.
The officers saw several items of drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle the women had been in, and a search led to the recovery of several hypodermic syringes, several vials of suspected cocaine and several capsules of suspected heroin, police said.
Diehl was charged with two counts of CDS possession (not marijuana) and one count of CDS paraphernalia possession. She was held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center.
Gowe was charged with one count of paraphernalia possession on a criminal citation and released on signature.
