DENTON — Deputies of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 26000 block of Baker Road, Denton, Oct. 9, to check the welfare of a motorist asleep behind the wheel.
Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle and awakened the driver who was identified as Jason Lee Corkell. While on scene investigating, a K-9 scan was conducted on the vehicle which rendered a positive alert to the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle, at which time fifteen wax folds, three gel capsules and four hypodermic syringes were located in the vehicle. All of the items located are suspected to contain heroin and or fentanyl. Corkell was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), not marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.
