EASTON — A man faces attempted murder and assault charges for allegedly strangling a woman in Easton.

Easton Police officers arrested Christian Adkins, 31, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, accusing him of beating and strangling a “female victim to the point she lost consciousness”, according to an EPD statement.

Adkins also faces false imprisonment and reckless endangerment charges, according to police.

The 27-year-old victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, according to police. The woman was an acquaintance of Adkins, according to EPD.

Adkins allegedly beat and choked the woman to the point of her passing out.

The woman told officers she woke up after the assault, found her own cell phones broken and called a family member on the defendant’s phone while he was sleeping.

That family member called police. Responding officers found bruises on the victim’s upper body, neck and jawline. After consultations with prosecutors, Adkins was charged and arrested.
