CAMBRIDGE — The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a 2004 Ford Explorer.

A passerby reported the vehicle fire at 801 Slacum St. at 6 a.m. Sept. 4. The Explorer belonged to Paula Reynolds, according to the fire marshal’s report.

Rescue Fire Company responded. It took 15 firefighters about 10 minutes to control the blaze, investigators said. No injuries were reported.

Damages were estimated at $3,000 to the vehicle and $500 to the contents.

Investigators ruled the fire as arson said it started outside the vehicle.
