EASTON — As the Talbot County Waterfowl Festival approaches, the 18th Annual Decoy Tailgate Show at the Talbot County Community Center gives enthusiasts a feast for their eyes.

The event, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 5, and continuing through Thursday, Nov. 7, features more than 150 vendors showcasing handcrafted waterfowl decoys, paintings, guns and other vintage collectors’ items.

The items on display can be bought, sold or swapped during the show’s three days.

Community Center Administrative Assistant Nina Baire said she expected the turnout to be good this year, with the first day attracting many locals and visitors.

“We get people from everywhere — Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and all over Maryland,” Baire said. “They all make friends with each other and figure out how to best get their stuff out there.”

Baire said each vendor pays $30 for a table in the show, where they can display their items for people to buy or admire.

“I think it’s more swapping than it is actually selling, but (the vendors) have wooden ducks, paintings, signs, crates, oyster cans, blankets, guns. They’ve got lots of stuff here,” she said.

The show, located in the Community Center parking lot, 10228 Ocean Gateway, Easton, is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5, 6 and 7.
