More than 350 people attended Easton Elementary School’s Family Literacy Night titled “Camp Out for Literacy” on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Moton Building.

Families shared a meal, received resources and engaged in learning activities, such as creating dialogue journals, listening to interactive read-alouds, participating in campfire sing-alongs, and learning how to play educational games.

Attendees learned how to use resources at home to promote literacy. Students in grades 2-5 submitted stories for a camping-themed writing contest. The winners received prizes donated by Hertrich, Easton Premier Cinemas, Subway, Easton Bowl and Dairy Queen.
