TILGHMAN — Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office on August 7 responded to Phillips Wharf for a patrol check of the landing.

Deputies observed Jose Jorge Mejia-Reyes, 33, and Ana Gregoria Gomez-Reyes, 43, both of Gaithersburg, at the landing during hours the landing is closed to the public.

Deputies escorted both individuals to their vehicle, which was illegally parked on the property. Deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located marijuana.

Gomez-Reyes and Mejia-Reyes were issued criminal citations for trespassing and possession of marijuana. Both were released on their signature with a promise to appear for trial.
