ANNAPOLIS — There have been 164,907 first doses and 12,704 second doses of COVID vaccines administered statewide.

That includes 15,641 coronavirus vaccinations on the Eastern Shore. That is according to the Maryland Department of Health data on mass COVID vaccinations from Wednesday, Jan. 13.

The Talbot County Health Department reported 20 new COVID cases on Wednesday. There are 226 active cases of the virus in the county. There have been 14 deaths attributed to COVID in Talbot.

There are 185 active coronavirus cases in Dorchester County as well as 28 deaths linked to the virus.

There are currently seven patients hospitalized in Dorchester for COVID. MDH reports there are currently 1,929 patients hospitalized for COVID statewide.

That is down 23 patients, according to MDH’s daily report on Wednesday. There have been 6,233 deaths in Maryland attributed to COVID since the pandemic’s inception including 37 new deaths reported Wednesday.
