EASTON — Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of a one-vehicle accident at about 4:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, on U.S. Route 50 about a half-mile north of Airport Road in Easton.
Troopers on the scene said the driver and sole occupant of the gray-green Volvo was taken to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton as a precaution.
The car appeared to have suffered extensive damage. The front and rear of the vehicle were crumpled, and the right back window was shattered.
Roads were wet from earlier rain, and a fine drizzle was falling at the time of the crash. Tire tracks indicate the southbound car went off the roadway just north of a culvert before coming to a stop in a field just south of a home at 9898 Ocean Gateway.
