ANNAPOLIS — Police have launched a “racially motivated vandalism investigation” after piece of twine that looked to be fashioned into the shape of a noose was found near the Lynching in Anne Arundel historical marker in Severna Park.
Anne Arundel County Police said they were called to the Severna Park Library at 11 a.m. on Sept. 5.
“A citizen was walking by when they noticed a piece of twine hanging under the sign that appeared to be in the shape of a noose. Officers and supervision responded to the scene. Evidence Collection Units processed the scene and Eastern District Detectives are investigating.
