OXFORD — Three Oxford volunteer firefighters recently earned their Firefighter I certification from the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute.

Josh Coder, Justin “Easy” Werner and Basil “Chip” Tydings were recently recognized for the completion of the course.

"The Oxford Fire Company is extremely proud that our new members have answered our call," said OFC President Tim Kearns. "They have joined the generations of local residents who, since Colonial times, have served to protect their homes and their neighboring areas, all as 100% volunteers."

"We hope that our ranks will continue to grow as we share the effort," Kearns said.

Coder is an exploration geologist, Werner is a product development and manufacturing consultant and Tydings is a movie production lighting technician.
