DENTON — Lynn Z. Morris Jr., 93 years of age, passed on Wednesday, July, 22, 2020.
Lynn was born May 18, 1927 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Lynn Z. Morris Sr. and Helen Morris. He was the oldest of two children. He is preceded in death by his sister Jean Peyton.
After graduating Central High School he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1951 from the University of Tennessee. Lynn was married to the late LaVerne Morris in 1955. In 1966 they moved to Denton, Maryland.
He is survived by his daughters; Mary Lynn Myers (Denny) of Phoenix, Arizona, Ellen Morris of Denton, Maryland, and Ann Bilbrough (Patrick) of Trappe, Maryland. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Tim Myers, Katie Lynn Myers Sullivan, Tyler Myers, Christopher Lynn Barnes, Carrie Barnes, Sean Bilbrough, Rachel Bilbrough Ireland, and five great grandchildren; Amaya Myers, Brayden Myers, Carter Myers, Charli Ann Ireland, and Shea Lynn Sullivan. Lynn is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the South.
Lynn was active in his community, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth, and then serving as Scout Master for the Denton troop of the Boy Scouts of America. His community service continued as he filled the position of Elder for the Presbyterian Church of Easton.
Lynn spent his entire working career in the agronomy field. 31 of those years were spent at the Wye Mills Grain Company until his retirement in 2003.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Lynn’s honor to the Presbyterian Church of Easton, or the Lupus Foundation of America.
