Too often we think of our public institutions as heartless monoliths, whereas the truth lay in the professionalism and generosity of their servant people. I am mighty grateful to them for the lifesaving care they recently gave to me during those touch-and-go moments in the ER, and seamlessly continuing on to the days on Three East in the hospital. And who are these people? They are the emergency specialists; nursing staff; lab, pharmacy and x-ray techs; hospitalist physicians; support staff and administration of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, a.k.a., Easton Memorial Hospital. A tip of the miter and a prayer of thanksgiving for these dear people!
