We moved to Easton a year and a half ago, in the middle of the debate about the Talbot Boys statue on the Easton courthouse lawn. The community is clearly split over its future at that location. I don’t believe adding another statue is a viable solution. Why not identify a prominent Civil War battlefield where the Talbot Boys served and move the statue there? Then the debate can shift to what, if anything, should take the place of that statue.
