At almost 74 years old I can remember a lot about the town of Easton and how it has changed. Shannahan Hardware Store, the old Acme and A&P Stores, Reads Drug Store and Traders Drug Store, McCrorys, and many more businesses that lined Washington Street that are gone only to live in the memories of people like me.

Now one of the last holdouts will soon be gone — Caldwell's Shoe Shop located on West Street. I can remember my family and friends doing business there. Such friendly and kind people. The leatherwork that was done in that shop was outstanding and done by people who took pride in their work. As for me, I will miss that shop and the very kind people who work there.
