Lets state facts: In 2019 police officers fatally shot 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise dangerous African Americans made up about a quarter of those killed by police officers last year (235). This ratio has remained stable since 2015. The police fatally shot 9 unarmed blacks and 19 unarmed white offenders according to Washington Post data base in 2019. According to the data collected police do not target African Americans. According to research by Harvard economist Mr. Fryer, Jr. there is no evidence to support racial discrimination among our police officers.

What needs to be changed are the actions of those stopped by police. He or she represent authority. Show respect. I have received a speeding ticket. I didn’t run away, grab a taser, call the officer names. Our society needs to focus on respect, education — did I say respect — for others in authority and education. Put God back in our country. The 10 Commandments are a good place to start. Exodus Chapter 20 — that is a book in the Bible.
