CROWNSVILLE — Emmary Sweeney intercepted a pass and scored the game-winning goal with 7 minutes remaining Tuesday, lifting Saints Peter and Paul High's field hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Indian Creek in the Sabres' season-opener.

Sweeney finished with two goals and Catherine Langston netted a goal for Sts. Peter & Paul (1-0). Gennie Webb and Evelyn Murphy each picked up an assist. Goalie Vicka Lafferty made three saves.
