PRESTON — Guava Jelly, a Caribbean-styled band from Annapolis, will kick off Preston’s free summer concerts on Sunday at the James T. Wright Memorial Park on Backlanding Road.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and the entire family for this all ages show, set for 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 9. Audiences of all ages will enjoy Guava Jelly’s Caribbean-infused originals and pop culture favorites loaded with reggae twists. Their mission is to foster community through music and encourage everyone to “Slow down and enjoy the moment, mon!”

Food vendors D-Rho Delightful Dishes and Nice Farms Creamery will be at the park during the concert. D-Rho will be serving Caribbean-flavored chicken fajitas and other tasty delights, while Nice Farms Creamery will be serving ice cream, including vanilla, chocolate, peach, Rise Up coffee and other flavors.

Sunday’s performance kicks off the Town of Preston’s Summer Concerts, which are funded by local businesses and the Town of Preston. Upcoming shows include The Jones Boys, playing from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 29, and Kenny Haddaway and Friends, 7-9 p.m. August 24.
